Fundada em 1975 por Steve Harris, um baixista inglês, a banda passou por diversas formações até chegar ao hoje consagrado sexteto: Nicko McBrain na bateria, Steve Harris no baixo, Janick Gers, Adrian Smith e Dave Murray nas guitarras e o muso/divo/ídolo Bruce Dickinson nos vocais, um inglês hiperativo que além de vocalista, tem programa de rádio, é escritor, historiador e piloto de avião!

Founded in 1975 by Steve Harris, an english bass player, the band went through several formations until today devoted to the sextet: Nicko McBrain on drums, Steve Harris on bass, Janick Gers, Adrian Smith and Dave Murray on guitars and the muse/ divine/idol Bruce Dickinson on vocals, an englishman who in addition to hyperactive vocalist, has a radio program, is a writer, historian and airplane pilot .
